The ESQ Energy Securities and Finance School is designed specifically to enable delegates gain in-depth understanding of the Energy Sector Financing especially for Upstream, Midstream, Downstream, LNG Projects and Power. The Course provides deep understanding of the essential skills required for assembling bankable projects, especially from the borrowers’ and lenders’ perspectives.
Delegates will gain a deeper understanding of the Energy market trends and how to identify or analyse prospective borrowers, arrange credit facilities and secure approval from bank credit committees. The workshop involves a fictional chemical project and a carefully structured series of issues related to that project, such as environmental, delay, cost overrun and take-or-pay issues.
Participants are split into negotiating teams and asked to “resolve” the issues. Each participant is asked to assume the role of banker, sponsor or contractor for the session. This helps participants understand the position of other parties in a typical Energy financing.
