The new package shall showcase selected stand up comedians like Gordons, Helen Paul, Gandoki and Afeez Oyetoro a.k.a Saka’ two hilarious plays , Yoruba Romance and Grip Am. The musical segment of the event has been recharged to give unlimited musical variation as they feature, for the first time a DJ rave featuring three top DJs; Dj Jimmy Jatt, DJ Xclusive and DJ Kentalky all on one stage.

Beyond GDP growth, the Internet also provides opportunities to pursue social and developmental objectives. Throughout the developing world, the Internet is connecting remote populations to markets and strengthening the overall efficiency of service delivery in areas such as health, education, livelihoods and financial inclusion, as well as creating access to government services for the most marginalized populations.
“The Impact of the Internet in Nigeria” report gives an insight into how the Internet has facilitated change in different sectors of the Nigerian Economy. A representative from Dalberg will be available to present the report.

The Life House is proud to announce the third edition of its Lights, Camera, Africa!!! Film Festival taking place from September 28 to October 1 and bringing Lagosians a refreshing selection of African and Diasporan films.
Lights, Camera, Africa!!! 2013 will screen dozens of films free-of-charge at the The Wheatbaker, The British Council, The Southern Sun Hotel, and Freedom Park in Lagos. 

The festival opens with Chinonye Chukwu's Alaskaland, the coming-of-age story of a Nigerian raised in Alaska. From Clemente Bicocchi comes Black Africa White Marble, where a descendant of the Italian explorer who gave his name to Congo-Brazzaville uncovers a plot that threatens to sully that name. And Confusion Na Wa, by Kenneth Gyang, gives powerful social commentary on how the miscarriage of justice incites people to take the law into their hands. 

Then, there are those films that are like open-ended questions, offering no definite answers, but rather sparking conversation. Roy Agyemang’s Mugabe: Villain or Hero? explores the relationship between the Zimbabwean leader and the West against the backdrop of the tussle for minerals and land. Agyemang draws on archival footage and original shots that offer unprecedented access to Mugabe and his entourage. The Stuart Hall Project is a film on the Jamaican-raised part Scottish, part African, part Portuguese Jew cultural theorist and sociologist. Director John Akomfrah’s portrayal of Hall's life, work and cultural impact explores issues of identity, cultural acceptance, immigration and assimilation that more of us are facing in a globalized world. 

As its broadens its repertoire, this year's edition of the festival will feature Côte d’Ivoire’s first ever 3D feature animation about a princess who tries to stop war from breaking out in the 18th century kingdom after a warrior seizes power. Children over 8 years old and animation buffs are encouraged to catch Pokou Ashanti Princess by Afrikatoon Production. 

Amid more thoughtful films, award-winning Nigerian-Welsh director Branwen Okpako’s The Pilot and The Passenger makes its world premiere at Lights, Camera, Africa!!! 2013, telling the captivating story of celebrated post-colonial poet, traditional priest and Biafran soldier, Christopher Okigbo.
This year's festival, themed 'Great Migrations', is brought to you by The Life House in collaboration with the African Film Festival Inc., New York, and Nadia Denton.

Sisters With Soul Feat. Mary J. Blige

R&B STAR MARY J. BLIGE STORMS LAGOS

Come September 27^th, all roads will lead to the Eko Hotel Convention Centre, to witness none other than the Queen of R&B and multiple-Grammy award-winning recording artiste Mary J. Blige LIVE in concert!  In a show tagged “Sisters With Soul”, the American star will lead an all-girl ensemble of Nigeria’s top female music artistes on the bill.  

The show, promoted by the turbo-driven Kilimanjaro Entertainment, promises to be a not-to-be-missed calendar event on the entertainment circuit.  Kilimanjaro, which has a solid reputation for having staged in Nigeria such international artistes as Joe, Boyz II Men, Sean Paul, Dionne Warwick, KC & JOJO, Kool & The Gang, Wyclef, TPain, Rick Ross and the recent Chris Brown pandemonium, have stated they are pulling out all the stops to ensure that the Mary J. • Chief Mrs Betty Ubeku's Bio:  Chief Mrs Betty Ubeku holds the B.Sc. (Hons) in Business Administration from University of Lagos, Akoka, Yaba, Lagos. She worked at the Defence Ministry, Apapa, Lagos before she moved to UAC, Niger House headquarters, Marina, Lagos and later made her mark at the Standard Bank Nigeria Limited, now renamed First bank Plc. She has contributed, in a unique way, to charity and got involved in a number of non-governmental Organization (NGOs) for the uplift of the poor and humanity. Mrs. Ubeku’s first link with the humanitarian services was with the Save Our Souls (SOS) Children’s Village, ISOLO.
  
  She was a member of the Preparatory Team Steering Committee to Dakar, in 1994 and China in 1995 where she was mandated to prepare and present a finished Craft Work on behalf of Nigerian women with other countries for twining at the Great Wall for Peace in Beijing, China, at the NGOs local level forum under the African platform of action which earned her an Interview by CNN International and national coverage.
  
  Also, this show of commitment enabled her further as a delegate participant at the on going conference, UN Level where Mrs. Ubeku was again, among those who received a “Torchlight” a Baton to touch other women including the children, a growth at the grass roots to commemorate the UN, China Beijing’95. Following this, she initiated a Networking Organisation named Women Care Association of Nigeria [WOCAN] with Motto: Reach Out And Touch. Mother And Child Survival. In 1997, due to her sterling quality, Mrs. Ubeku was among those nominated at the International Conference of the African First Ladies held at that time in Abuja as member of the Steering Committee of the West African Women Association (WAWA) to represent the South/South geographical Zone to set up the Nigeria Chapter of the Association. Mrs. Ubeku got nominated as the Focal Person of the West African Women Association (WAWA), Nigeria in 2007.
  
  Mrs Ubeku who happened to be the founder of Women Care Association of Nigeria (WOCAN) has since combined coordination of the overall objective (WAWA) is to mobilize women participation in regional economic integration decision.404 have equally showered Lion Ubeku with several Awards and recognition in appreciation of her invaluable services and cooperation Certificates including a Plaque-Woman of Honour for distinguished services extended to humanity. Currently appointed as chairperson under the International Association Lions Clubs Multiple District 404 Nigeria to coordinate it’s activities to mark its 31st annual historical event Lions with United Nations held in Nigeria, at the Nigeria Institute Intl. Affairs Lagos- theme: Peace & Leadership in Africa 2009 including youths the Leos young ones. The successes of her role earned Mrs Ubeku an International Lions President’s Commendation Award for distinguishing herself as an “EVERYDAY HERO BY CREATING MIRACLES THROUGH SERVICE”
  
  Betty Ubeku, who lives her life for the happiness and joy of others had been deservedly honoured with National and International Awards. ECOWAS region, the Apini Ladies Group, crowned her MAMA ADOBI II (Queen Mother) in Kpando, Upper Volta Region, Ghana, in November 1995. Also, in July 1998, Mrs. Ubeku was decorated with the 1998/99 Melvin Jones Fellowship (MJF) Pin and presented the MJF Award Plague at the Lions International Convention in Birmingham. It is the highest form of recognition conferred by the Lions Club International Foundation (LCIF) and also, she became the 2nd person in the District 404, Nigeria to receive the Lions International Growth Award.
