Workshop attendees will learn how to evaluate their own
skills and achievements and use this information effectively to write
their CV - and much more ...
In addition, the workshop will give attendees an overview of the job
search process, including using the CV as part of interview preparation,
cover letter writing and self-presentation.
The CV writing workshop comprises two key elements:-
Workshop
The workshop is a dynamic 3 hour session with our
experienced CV writers from the purple squirrel company team. Key topic
areas in the workshop are:
The CV and why it is important
CV components and structure
Practical writing session and coaching
Next steps (eg interview planning, job seeking resources, working with headhunters, writing great cover notes/letters)
Post-Workshop
The post-workshop CV critique and evaluation. After
the workshop attendees will complete their CV and send it to the PSC
team who provide a detailed critique and provide final pieces of advice
and suggestions to enable attendees to polish their CV so that it is
ready to start working harder for them in their job search.
Attendees are welcome (and encouraged) to bring personal lap top
computers with them to the workshop (attendees spend some time working
on their own CV to put learnings into practice) although it is not
essential.
INFORMATION FOR ATTENDEES
VENUE AND LOCATION: This
workshop is scheduled to take place at the University of Lagos. Exact
location would be sent soonest. We start workshop at 11am prompt.
Attendees are advised to arrive early to clear registration confirmation
and be seated by 10:50am.
TAGS: Attendees
will be provided with tags, which should be worn throughout the
Workshop. Attendees are free to keep the tags after the workshop.
CANCELLATIONS:
It is recognized that unforeseen circumstances may necessitate a
cancellation. Please email us if you would not be able to attend so that
your seat can be given out.
SECURITY:
Please ensure that your keep your belonging safe. We would not accept
responsibility for attendee’s missing personal belongings.
WHAT TO BRING:
You are welcome (and encouraged) to bring personal Laptops with you to
the workshop, as you would spend some time working on your own CV.
CELL PHONES:
We understand that attendees would have needs to use their cell phones,
however, we advice that all phones be put on vibrate during the
workshop. We would not confiscate any cell but we might have to ask any
attendee whose cell phone disturbs a session to leave the room.
CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE: We have this available at N1, 000 for any attendee who is interested. To book for one, please send your full name to purplesquirrelcompany@gmail.comindicating
you need a certificate of attendance. This should be done before 5pm on
Thursday. Any order after that time would not be granted. You would be
required to pay this fee at the point of confirmation. Please don’t
order for a certificate if you would not be attending.
